About Me

Kobi McCray is a 23-year-old creative director + photographer operating in Richmond, Virginia.

A passionate art director and artist from Newport News, VA. My work experience includes Marketing Assistant for VCU’s Diversity P.A.T.H.S program, Senior Photographer / Head of Photography at Ink Magazine and a Photographer for the Award-Winning Commonwealth Times.

Education experience: Bachelors Degree in Mass Communications, Concentration in Creative Advertising and an Associates Degree in Psychology.

My creative journey started when I downloaded Photoshop at the age of 11. I didn’t know what it would lead me to but I knew it would do two things;

  1. Allow expression of myself.

  2. Capture the world around me.

At 23, I’ve been fortunate enough to earn two degrees, multiple art content awards, and extensive skilled experience across diverse jobs.

My passion to learn and excel was fostered by my mother. As a teacher, she taught me how to use dedication and character to consistently study.

I’ve studied Art Direction, Copywriting, Psychology, Design (UX and Graphic), Content Strategy, and Storytelling to master one thing; inspiration.

Creativity for me is more than a profession but a daily obsession to create innovative projects that pierce the veil. Inspiration is what empowers communities and creates avenues for the future. A quality future doesn’t just deserve quality but demands it.

I am dedicated to crafting timeless projects that inspire. I create work to shift the world forward, reflecting a narrative that's as diverse and dynamic as my background.

Let's connect and create something unforgettable.
